American Express Chief Privacy Officer Leaves for Private Practice

American Express Co. (AXP) Chief Privacy Officer Andy Roth, has left the firm to join SNR Denton LLP as a partner in the New York office, where he will advise clients on issues including crisis management and best practices in sustainable data governance. At AXP, Mr. Roth oversaw the privacy matters of more than 100 million customers and 60,000 employees worldwide and worked with regulators in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Mike McNamara, SNR Denton’s U.S. managing partner, had these words for the new partner:  "Andy’s legal knowledge, technology savvy and operational experience are a great addition, further enabling our global team in counseling clients not just on compliance with privacy and security laws, but on how to leverage data to drive transformation,”
