Analyst Joins the Cast of Survivor, Loses Job
[ by Melanie Gretchen ]
Former Bear Stearns analyst Roberta "RC" Saint Amour heads out of the Wall Street jungle into the real one, in the new season of Survivor: The Philippines. Unfortunately, Wall Street may not be there for her when she returns, victorious or not.
Among her accomplishments, Ms. Saint Amour was the winner of the 112th Wellesley College “Hoop Rolling” Competition and an honorary member of the first inaugural Ladies of Investor Relations list. On Wall Street, she was an investment banking analyst for Bear Stearns and Gruppo, Levey & Co., and an Investment Banking Associate for Landmark Ventures – until she joined the cast of Survivor.
"They replaced me while I was gone, and I came back to no job, which was a little devastating — that’s the hardest part you go through with this wonderful experience: The sacrifices you make in order to have your dream come true. It’s tough sometimes, but I try not to think about it."
Is winning $1 million harder on or off Wall Street? For the moment, we'll only be able to watch her success on he show starting this week. Ms. Saint Amour will face former San Francisco Giants second baseman Jeff Kent and Lisa Whelchel, who played Blair on the sitcom, The Facts of Life.
"If I know how to play with the big boys of Wall Street, I can certainly play with the little boys in the Survivor sandbox."
