BNY Mellon appointed Edward Watson to the new position of EVP and chief operations officer (COO). Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Mr. Watson, 51, served as EVP for operations, technology and general services for Fannie Mae.
In his new role, Mr. Watson will join the firm's global Operating Committee, and will report to Kurt Woetzel, BNY Mellon head of global operations and technology, and CAO (chief administrative officer).
"Ed's new role is key to driving operational excellence across our global organization. In addition to leading the centralization of certain operations, Ed will oversee operational activities in our global delivery centers and have responsibility for operations functions that today reside in our businesses." -- Mr. Woetzel.
