BofA Prime Brokerage Head Quits

July 25, 2012
[ by Howard Haykin ] The head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch's U.S. brokerage service that introduces hedge funds to new investors is reportedly leaving the bank for a position at a hedge fund.  An internal memo obtained by Reuters said that Justin Fredericks was leaving “to pursue other opportunities" but did not disclose what they were.  However, a source close to the situation told Reuters that Mr. Fredericks will be working for an unnamed hedge fund. Elizabeth Hammond will replace Mr. Fredericks as head of the U.S. Capital Strategy team, which is part of Bank of America's prime brokerage business, effective immediately.   [HedgeFund.Net, 7/24/12]
