BofA Shuffles Investment Banking Executives

January 30, 2012
[ by Melanie Gretchen ] Bank of America co-COO Thomas Montag has named a single person to run global corporate and investment banking - an effort to simplify this unit of the bank that Mr. Montag oversees.  Austrian-born Christian Meissner, a relative newcomer, will now serve as the sole head for this business unit that encompasses the corporate and investment banking businesses - a consolidation made last April.  Mr. Meissner was recruited from Nomura Holdings in 2010 and, like Mr. Montag, is a veteran of Goldman Sachs.  Mr. Meissner also worked for Lehman Brothers Holdings. Affected by Mr. Meissner's move are Michael Rubinoff and Paul Donofrio - both of whom had served with Meissner as investment banking co-heads.  Mr. Rubinoff will become chairman of global corporate and investment banking, while Mr. Donofrio will head the firm’s corporate banking and transaction banking business, which also oversees Treasury services and loan products.  Going forward, all 3 will continue to report to Mr. Montag.
