CBOE Exam Waivers and Exemptions
CBOE filed for immediate effectiveness to eliminate the need for Trading Permit Holders to formally file a waiver request for an appropriate category of registration under certain circumstances if the individual TPF or an associated person maintains a registration in a designated registration category.
Individuals seeking an automatic waiver of the qualification examination must still register in CRD in the appropriate category of registration - e.g., PT or "Proprietary Trader") by 9/19/11. Once the appropriate registration category is selected in CRD, CBOE will then identify that the individual has passed the substitute qualification examination and may grant the waiver.
This current rule change follows up on CBOE's recent announcement that 3 new registration categories had become available in WebCRD - in conjunction with recent changes to CBOE Rule 3.6A and other Exchange rules:
- PT - Proprietary Trader - Series 56, (Alternative - Series 7).
- CT - Proprietary Trader Compliance Officer - Series 14 (Alt - Series 24).
- TP - Proprietary Trader Principal - Series 24 (Alt - Series 9/10 and Series 23)
For further details, go to: [CBOE RegCirc 11-95, 8/5/11] and/or [CBOE Rule Filing 11-75, 8/4/11]
