CBOE’s CEO to Add Chairman Role After BATS Transaction

December 23, 2016

Edward Tilly, who has been CBOE of the CBOE since 2013, will take on the added role of Chair when CBOE Holdings and BATS Global Markets merge. CBOE in September in September announced that it will acquire BATS for $3.2 billion in a largely unexpected deal that would create a new global exchange behemoth to rival the likes of NYSE owner Intercontinental Exchange, Nasdaq and CME Group.

The company also said board members William Brodsky, Susan Phillips and Eden Martin intend to step down when the deal closes. James Boris will continue to serve as lead director.
