Deutsche Bank Fined $41Mn Over AML Deficiencies

May 31, 2017

Deutsche Bank AG agreed to pay $41 million to settle Federal Reserve charges that the firm’s U.S. operations failed to maintain adequate protections against money laundering. The assessment was based on a recent examination by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

In addition to the monetary fine, Deutsche Bank's U.S. operations will need to revise its written BSA/AML compliance program (Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering) and to retain an independent 3rd party to conduct a comprehensive review of the bank's related policies and procedures.
