Deutsche Names New Heads to Compliance, Tech/Ops and Risk

March 20, 2012
Deutsche Bank on Tuesday named new heads of 3 departments - Technology and Operations; Risk; and Compliance - while promoting the 3 senior executives to its management board.
  • Henry Ritchotte, 48, currently COO for the global markets division, will be COO with oversight of technology, operations and strategy.
  • Stuart Lewis, 46, currently deputy CRO and head of risk for the corporate and investment bank, will be in charge of market, credit and operational risk.
  • Stephan Leithner, 45, co-head of investment banking coverage and advisory, will lead global HR, legal and compliance, and have oversight for regional management in Europe excluding Germany.
Management Shake-Up. Bloomberg News reported that the management shake-up resulted from the change in leadership at the top - as Josef Ackermann steps down after a decade as CEO.  The bank’s 2 new co-CEOs, Anshu Jain and Jürgen Fitschen take over in May.  In the meantime, they reportedly are promoting people they worked with closely. Stepping Down. Dr. Hugo Bänziger, 56, former CRO, and Hermann-Josef Lamberti, 56, former COO and head of operations and technology, have decided to step down from the management board and to leave the bank on 5/31/12.    [Wall Street and Tech, 3/20/12]
