Dewey LeBoeuf Exodus Accelerates

April 18, 2012
On a beautiful warm spring day in New York, 8 more partners announced they were leaving Dewey & LeBoeuf, raising to 66 (out of 300) the number of partners who have left the firm since the start of the year. Hunton & Williams, a Richmond, VA-based law firm, said on Tuesday it had hired 6 partners from Dewey’s energy and infrastructure practice.  The group is led by Bud Ellis, formerly co-head of Dewey’s utilities, power and pipelines group.  He will lead Hunton’s energy practice in New York, where he will be joined by Kevin Felz, Michael Fitzpatrick Jr., Steven Friend, Steve Loeshelle, and Peter O’Brien. The Pillsbury law firm added the other 2 Dewey corporate partners - Catherine Hood and Anthony Terrell, who joined that firm’s NY office this week. Once again, Dewey played down the impact of the moves.  [Dealbook, 4/17/12]
