DiCaprio and Scorsese Coming to Wall Street

February 21, 2011

Martin Scorsese will direct Leonardo "Leo" DiCaprio in the film, The Wolf of Wall Street, which follows a stock broker's hard-partying times, his addictions, the rise and fall of his firm, and imprisonment. The shoot date will be revealed in May at the Cannes film festival.

Jordan Belfort wrote the story that the movie's based on - it details the fast-dealing, drug-and-sex-drenched life on Wall Street in the 1990s, that eventually led to jail time in federal prison for offences related to stock market manipulation.  DiCaprio's currently operating on the other side of the law - he's in production of the biopic about FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover.

Wolf of Wall Street will be their 5th film together.  Scorsese and DiCaprio previously worked together on:  Shutter Island, The Departed, The Aviator, Gangs of New York.    [Independent Films, 2/19]
