Ex-Goldman Partner Goes NBA

Former Goldman Sachs partner Jason Cahilly perhaps reached his second dream job of a lifetime - that of being named the National Basketball Association’s Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Strategy. His first, of course was to work for Goldman and rise to the vaulted position of Partner. Having accomplished his first goal - achieving success at Goldman, which no doubt affords Mr. Cahilly and his family everlasting financial security, he can now focus on what might have been his childhood dream - a role with the NBA.
Cahill at Goldman Sachs. Cahilly spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs and most recently served as a Goldman Sachs Group partner and global co-head of media & telecommunications.
With the NBA, which is scheduled to begin 1/14/13, Cahilly will report to NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver. Mr. Silver is slated to succeed Commissioner David Stern as the NBA's top executive - a move that is scheduled for February 2014. Cahilly succeeds Carol Sawdye, who left the league to become the CFO of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP,
