Ex-Top Lehman Banker Commits Latest Pharmacy Crime
Just 5 days after a gunman shot 4 people inside a Medford, NY, pharmacy, former banker Bradley H. Jack was arrested at a CVS store in Connecticut. His alleged crime: using a forged prescription to obtain Oxycontin and Ritalin pills - a 2nd-degree forgery and forgery of a prescription drug. He was released on a promise to appear in a Bridgeport court 7/11.
According to police, Mr. Perez, on Friday Mr. Jack went to the CVS in Fairfield, not far from his home. He gave the pharmacist a prescription for 12 pills of Oxycontin, a prescription painkiller, and 9 pills of Ritalin, used to treat attention deficit disorder. Told it would take an hour or so to fill the order, Mr. Jack dressed indicated he'd come back.
The pharmacist quickly noticed that the prescription had been photocopied, called the doctor who had issued it and confirmed it was a fake. Mr. Jack, 52, returned to CVS an hour later, but quickly left without picking up is prescription. An employee followed him out of the store and got his license plate.
The police got in touch with Mr. Jack, and he turned himself in. Before being asked any questions, Mr. Jack immediately apologized and said he knew what he had done was wrong.
Turn of Events for This Wall Street Banker. Bradley Jack was once a respected Wall Street banker and former co-COO at Lehman Brothers. He joined the investment bank in the 1980s, but left in 2005, 3 years before the firm 'crashed and burned'. At the time, Mr. Jack indicated that he was planning to do non-profit work. Upon his arrest, Mr. Jack did not provide a current employer to the Fairfield police.
Second-degree forgery is a felony offense, and Mr. Jack could face jail time if convicted. No further details were made available. [Dealbook, 6/29/11]
