FINRA Hires Chief Info Officer from Citigroup

FINRA announced Wednesday that Citigroup's Co-Chief Information Officer ("CIO") will join FINRA as EVP and CIO.  Steven Randich, who spent the past 7 years at Citigroup, will start on 3/11/13. 

In his new role as CIO, Randich will will oversee technology at FINRA, as well as FINRA's Registration and Disclosure division.  He will report directly to FINRA Chairman & CEO Rick Ketchum. 

Ketchum expressed his pleasure at once again working with Steve Randich, noting that he's:  "ideally qualified to lead our Technology team on our many important initiatives - including:

  • the continued rollout of the new exam technology platform,
  • enhancements to CRD/BrokerCheck, and
  • development of FINRA's response to the consolidated audit trail (CAT) request for proposal."

Randich Professional Credentials.   Randich brings to FINRA an extensive background of market, technology and operations experience.  At Citigroup, he most recently served in the dual role of Citigroup Co-Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Officer and Global Head of Technology for Citi's Institutional Clients Group.  Prior to joining Citigroup, Randich spent a number of years with Nasdaq as EVP, Ops and Technology and Chief Information Officer.  From 1009 to 2000, he served as EVP and CIO for the Chicago Stock Exchange.

Randich earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from Northern Illinois U., and an M.B.A. from U.  of Chicago.   [ FINRA News Release, 2/27/13 ]
