FINRA to OSC: Let's Connect

November 18, 2011
This long-awaited moment has arrived, when we can say that a 'detente of sorts' has been reached between Washington and Toronto.  We're talking, of course, about the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between FINRA and the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC). A MOU is intended to facilitate the exchange of information re: regulated entities that operate across the U.S.-Canadian border.  It was executed on 11/10 by Richard 'Rick' Ketchum, FINRA's Chairman and CEO, and Howard Wetston, Q.C., Chair of the OSC.  In Ontario, the MOU is subject to approval by the Ontario Minister of Finance.   [FINRA News Release, 11/18/11]
