He Rose, He Fell - The Outsized Life of Jon Corzine (A 'Slide' Show - no pun intended)

November 4, 2011
What a fitting way to end the week and perhaps the outsized public life and career of MF Global CEO Jon Corzine, who today resigned - voluntarily or under duress.  Of course, we'll be seeing and hearing a lot more of and from Mr. Corzine. Business Insider/Clusterstock's Lisa Du presents a wonderful slide show documenting Jon Corzine's life and career.  It's not only interesting but extremely well-documented.  As you flip through the 13 or so slides, each accompanied by a vignette of the period, you be able to go to the referenced source document or article - WSJ, Reuters, etc. As Ms. Du takes us for a look back at Corzine's journey in finance and politics, we learn of his several low and high points, during a career marked by quick successes - and rife with controversy.  Kudos to Business Insider, Clusterstock, and Lisa Du. And without further ado ......

"Slide One.  He came from humble roots. Corzine had a typical and humble Midwestern upbringing.  He grew up on a farm in central Illinois;  his father was a farmer and insurance salesman, and his mother was a schoolteacher.

In high school, Corzine was a football quarterback and captain of the basketball team.
