'Inside Job' Wins Oscar

February 28, 2011

"Inside Job," an expose on the financial crisis of 2008, won the 2011 Academy Award for best documentary.   on Sunday night.  The award was presented to filmmakers Charles Ferguson and Audrey Marrs.  Mr. Ferguson used his acceptance speech to deliver pointed criticism at Wall Street and the financial industry, noting that:  "no one has gone to prison for the enormous fraud that was perpetrated in this country."

Throughout the firm, the filmmaker subjected Wall Street players, economists and bureaucrats to a fierce cross-examination to depict the economic crisis as a colossal crime perpetrated on the working-class masses by a greedy few.
