Jefferies Poaches Muni Manager From UBS

May 5, 2011

UBS took another hit - this time from Jefferies & Company, which added a new managing director in the Municipal Securities Group - Jerome Doyle.  He'll be based in New York and will focuses on high net worth, middle markets and electronic trading platforms.  Mr. Doyle had spent 13 years at UBS, most recently serving as an MD and Manager of that firm’s Northeast Municipal Trading Group.  Previously, he worked for PaineWebber and Kidder Peabody.

The addition of Mr. Doyle reflects Jefferies ongoing expansion of its Fixed Income business.  The municipal securities group now has over 100 professionals involved with the banking, sales and trading of municipal securities.  Jefferies' broader fixed income business now has nearly 525 professionals globally who are focused on the sales and trading of municipal bonds, investment grade corporate bonds, high yield bonds, government and agency securities, repo finance, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, whole loans, leveraged loans, distressed securities and emerging markets debt.  [Business Wire, 5/3]
