John Berry Is SEC's New Associate Regional Director in L.A. Office

October 21, 2016

The SEC named John Berry as Associate Regional Director for Enforcement in the agency’s Los Angeles Regional Office, to serve alongside fellow Associate Regional Director.  The region covers southern CA, AZ, NV and HI. Berry succeeds Dabney O’Riordan, who became Co-Chief of Enforcement’s Asset Management Unit in June 2016.

Since 2011, Mr. Berry has led the Los Angeles office’s litigation program as its regional trial counsel, managing cases pending both in federal courts and administrative proceedings.  The trial unit has 9 senior trial attorneys.

Before joining the SEC, Mr. Berry was a NY-based partner in Akin Gump’s commercial litigation practice.  Before entering the field of law, Mr. Berry was a field engineer for General Electric in Houston.  Mr. Berry earned his joint law and business degree from UVa and his BS with honors from Duke.
