JP Morgan's New Leveraged Finance Chief

December 19, 2011
[ by Melanie Gretchen ] JPMorgan Chase named Gerry Murray its new head of North America leveraged-finance business, including capital markets, restructuring and origination of high-yield bonds and leveraged loans.  This move marks a shift in management throughout the company. A member of the original high-yield team, Mr. Murray has been with the company for more than 17 years, a spokesman for JPMorgan said.  Other changes include the appointment of Thomas Cassin and Huw Richards to head the global investment-grade businesses for both loans and bond originations. Following the division of capital markets business into 2 groups, Andy O'Brien and Jim Case will serve co-heads of global debt-capital markets.  According to an internal memo obtained by Bloomberg, Melissa Smith will run EMEA investment-grade finance;  like Richards, she will relocate from London to New York.
