MSRB's EMMA Site for Muni Credit Ratings
November 28, 2011
MSRB now provides free public access to current municipal credit ratings on its EMMA website. The ratings, from Fitch Ratings and Standard & Poor's, are displayed for any and all individual muni securities that have ratings assigned by the 2 agencies.
What You'll Find. EMMA will display: (i) long-term credit ratings for individual securities; (ii) any short-term rating; (iii) underlying or unenhanced rating; (iv) credit enhancement features; and/or, (v) other information - including links to additional information from credit rating agencies (e.g. definitions, prior ratings research reports.
For those not familiar with the EMMA website, a centralized online database operated by the MSRB, there's a video about ratings on EMMA, among other resources. [MSRB News Release, 11/21/11]
