Muni Bond Education, Outreach Program is L.A.-Bound
On 1/25/11, MSRB will host an education and outreach event for professionals in the municipal market in Los Angeles that's open to investors and persons associated with municipal entities, muni advisors and registered B/D's. The education sessions that will provide information about the MSRB’s expanded mission to protect municipal entities, its EMMA website and municipal disclosure, and municipal advisor and dealer rulemaking.
Agenda Topics. Topics are described below, and MSRB staff will be available at the seminar for Q&A's.
- MSRB and Protection of the Municipal Market. This session for all municipal market participants will provide an overview of the MSRB and its expanded mission to protect municipal entities.
- Electronic Municipal Market Access (EMMA). This session will cover recent and upcoming enhancements to the MSRB’s EMMA website.
- Professional Qualifications for Municipal Advisors. This session for muni advisors will provide a forum to discuss the development of professional qualifications for advisors.
- Dealer Q&A. An opportunity for brokers, dealers and muni securities dealers to ask questions of MSRB’s legal and policymaking staff.
- Municipal Advisor Rulemaking. This session for muni advisors will cover the MSRB’s initial rulemaking efforts with respect to muni advisors, including registration with the MSRB.
- Event Reception. All attendees are welcomed to hear remarks from MSRB Chair Michael Bartolotta.
Seminar Details. Tuesday, 1/25, 1-5 pm Pacific time, at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza 251 South Olive Street Los Angeles, California 90012. There's no cost to attend, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.
