Nomura Leaving 'Shadows' of World Trade Center

July 22, 2011
Nomura Securities International, U.S. subsidiary of Japan’s Nomura Holdings, will be moving uptown from its 'Ground Zero' location (where this writer worked on 9/11).   The firm, which has been headquartered at 2 World Financial Center, will take more than 900,000 sf (on 20 floors) at New York's Worldwide Plaza - West 50 Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues. The firm's move is a big score for Worldwide Plaza, but a big letdown for the World Financial Center, which has been seeking to sign tenants for more than 3 million square feet of leases that expire in 2013.   [WSJ Metropolis Page, 6/28/11]
