NYSE Disaster Recovery Testing
March 29, 2012
This Saturday, 3/31/12, from 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon EDT, the NYSE will offer testing of its disaster recovery capability on NYSE Arca. All NYSE members with connectivity to NYSE Arca will be able to participate.
The applicable functionality, known as "Print as N", is designed to allow for uninterrupted trading in NYSE listed issues, in the event trading is unavailable on the floor of the NYSE.
In the event trading is ever unavailable on the floor of the NYSE, NYSE Arca will function as the disaster recovery solution for all NYSE trading license holders. In this scenario, orders in Tape A securities would be routed to NYSE Arca and would be processed under NYSE Arca rules. If trading were disrupted on the floor of the NYSE intraday, trading would commence on NYSE Arca on the following business day if the NYSE was still unable to open.
During this test, NYSE Arca will not be accepting Market on Open or Limit on Open orders, however, these order types will be available in production in Q2, pending SEC approval. Further details about the test as well as instructions on how to participate are attached.
To obtain further details, go to: [NYSE Trader Announcement, 3/27/12] and [Disaster Recovery Test Details].
