Prudential Gets New Life from Hartford, and Other ‘Firms/People on the Move’
For 10/9/12, these firms a/o their associated persons are "On the Move": Prudential .. Dickstein Shapiro .. Dorsey & Whitney .. WilmerHale [details below].
Prudential Financial Inc. Prudential will buy the individual life-insurance business of Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. for $615 billion, in a deal to close early next year. Going forward, Prudential will assume responsibility for some 700,000 Hartford life policities, and will receive $7 billion in investment assets from Hartford that are earmarked for future claims on those policies.
Dickstein Shapiro. JB Kelly has joined as partner with the state attorneys general practice in Washington; previously general counsel to the attorney general of North Carolina.
Dorsey & Whitney. Catherine Pan has joined as partner in its corporate group in New York; previously a solo practitioner.
WilmerHale. Christopher Casamassima has joined the firm's Los Angeles office. He will work in the litigation/controversy and regulatory and government affairs departments as well as the business trial and antitrust and competition groups; previously at Kirkland & Ellis.
