SEC Credit Ratings Roundtable

A Hot Topic, Given the Government's Lawsuit Against S&P.

The SEC will hold a Credit Ratings Roundtable on 5/14/13 dealing with  recent staff report on credit ratings and related matters.  The event is particularly timely with the Justice Department’s current lawsuit against Standard & Poor’s  - which is putting pressure on other rating agencies.

SEC Staff Report.   A recent 106-pp report - Report on Assigned Credit Ratings - mandated by Dodd-Frank - recommends that a roundtable be held to provide a forum for discussing the staff’s findings.  

The event, to be held at the SEC headquarters in Washington, D.C., is open to the public.  Those who can’t attend can watch the proceedings live on the SEC website.   Information on the agenda and participants will be issued at a later date.
