SEC Review of FINRA Proposal on Stop Orders is Extended

A FINRA rule proposal filed relating to the handling of stop and stop limit orders was published for comment in early June was nearing the 45-day deadline (7/21/12) for a decision by the SEC – approve, disapprove, or extend the review. The SEC opted to extend the review period another 45 days, to 9/4/12, which will provide sufficient time to consider the rule change and to review comments letters received on the proposal.
