SEC's New Division Chief Hails From Goldman Sachs

January 19, 2011

Eileen Rominger, 56, was named the new Director of the SEC's Division of Investment Management, replacing Andrew 'Buddy' Donohue.  She begins in February.  Ms. Rominger is coming to the Commission from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where she's worked the past 11 years, and where she most recently had served as the firm’s global chief investment officer.  Prior to that, she spent 18 years at Oppenheimer Capital, where she was a portfolio manager, MD, and a member of the Executive Committee.

Working within Goldman Sachs’s asset management unit, Ms. Rominger served as CIO overseeing portfolio management teams in 8 countries and covering fixed income, fundamental equity, and quantitative investment strategies.  She also was a portfolio manager for fundamental equity portfolios.  Ms. Rominger served as head of the investment committee for the Goldman Sachs Foundation, and was a member of the management committee and risk committee of the firm’s Investment Management Division.
