The Goldman Diaspora

May 17, 2011

The Goldman Sachs Group and its 221 original partners have made Wall Street history ever since 1999, the year the firm became a corporation and sold a stake in the business to public investors.  Today, 39 original partners remain, meaning 182 have dispersed into a broad range of roles throughout the world - according to Susanne Craig, whose story appears in [NYT Dealbook, 5/17]

Ms. Craig refers to the departures as "The Goldman Diaspora," which can be defined as "the dispersion or spreading of something that was originally localized (as a people or language or culture)."    After the jump, take a look at these presentations from the NYTimes:  (i) the diaspora - its dispersion;  (ii) profiles of well-known original partners .
