Wall Street Chief Embroiled in Extra-Marital Affairs
John Duffy, CEO of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, apparently gave his estranged wife some additional ammunition for her to use in their Manhattan divorce proceedings. Mr. Duffy is alleged to have made millions of dollars worth of gifts to a trio of girlfriends.
For his good deeds, Mr. Duffy was charged with adultery by wife Kathy. In the couple's divorce proceeding, Mrs. Duffy claims her husband was dating 3 different women in recent years, including a rock singer who scored more than $770,000 in gifts from her John.
A second got into real estate, when Mr. Duffy purchased a $345,000 Yonkers condo and a Connecticut house worth $465,000.
Duffy dropped $800,000 of gifts on a third woman, for whom he also purchased a home in the Dominican Republic. [C-I Note: Quite interesting how Mr. Duffy seemed to track the amounts of the gifts to each woman - presuming he had not favorites, they all received, what appears to be, gifts of comparable value.]
John Duffy claims that the gifts were nothing more than investments, and denies engaging in any sexual affairs. He's previously offered a $20mn settlement to his soon-to-be ex-wife, which she turned down. [NY Post, 8/15/11]
