'Wall Street Women' Gala Postponed
[ by Melanie Gretchen ]
Apparently, securities trading recognition is not secure.
"Wall Street Women: A Celebration of Excellence," was set to happen on Wednesday, 11/7/12, will be rescheduled due to stormy weather. After Hurricane Sandy hit the region, a second major storm is due that same evening. Although the new storm may be only as half as powerful as Hurricane Sandy, that may be too much for the financial district of New York, Staten Island, Long Island, large portions of New Jersey, and parts of Connecticut, which are still recovering.
The gala, set to start at 6 p.m. in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, in midtown Manhattan, will honor the achievements of women in securities trading. The program recognizes leaders that demonstrate how guide the securities trading industry to greater prosperity. Women were nominated in 8 categories by their peers in the trading community who submitted information on a variety of criteria. Categories included responsibilities, financial results, and organizational success, on each nominee. This year's award-winners were chosen from more than 70 nominees by an independent advisory board comprised of seven established, female leaders from the industry.
